One weekend we decided to adventure out
to Skyline Drive
which is along the Shenandoah National Forest.
We stopped a couple of times
to take pictures along the way.
The Views were Amazing!!
Then we stopped at the Byrd Visitor's Center.
King of the Rock!
They had SO much fun listening to the speakers on the phones!
This is a picture of "Big Meadows"
This was cleared and used during the war.
Our little Forrest Ranger!
We talked to the Rangers at the Byrd Center
and asked them where we could go for a good hike
for people with little legs.
They directed us to the Dark Hollow Falls that wasn't too far away.
Our little collector collecting rocks!!
Making our way down!
It really was a nice hike.
We made it to where we could see the falls and decided
to just stop there. We could have headed on farther down to the base of the
falls but it was MUCH steeper and we didn't feeling like carrying the little ones
all the way back up!
The Falls were beautiful!
We were trying to get a good picture
of the boys with the falls but G wanted
to howl like a wolf so....
"Fishing!!"
Silly goofballs!
C was happy "fishing"
with his stick in the water.
Family Photo!
On our way back up!!
The boys took turns on daddy's shoulders
and piggyback riding with mommy.
We really didn't have too many complaints!
It really was a really fun day spent together.
A close up of how Pretty the Cherry Blossoms are in the D.C. area
