To Love a Child

As soon as we got back from our trip we started to 

ask C what he wanted the decorations at his party to be. 

He was VERY specific! 

M: What do you want the decorations at your party to be? 

C: I want Kitty Cats in my party and at my party? 

M: What? You want Kitty Cats for decorations? 

C: Um yeah but I want to go and pick up a 

box and go like this (puts it to his ear) and 

hear "Meow, Meow" and open it and 

there be a Kitty cat inside!!" 

M: OH BOY! You want a Kitty cat for your birthday!?! 

C: Um yeah! 

Mommy quickly called daddy at work and told him the news! 

Later that week: 

D: So you want a robot kitty for your birthday!?! 

C: Um No a real kitty that goes Meee Oooow.

D: I don't know if we are getting you a real kitty. 

What about a stuffed animal kitty? 

C: Um No! 

(Usually we can talk our kids into a certain direction AWAY from 

certain presents we don't really want them to have. This was not going well!)

On yet another occasion: 

M: So what do you want besides a kitty for your birthday? 

C: Umm a little bowl, no 2 little bowls and some cat food for my kitty!

M: (thinking OH GEEZE!!) Okay but what do you want besides 

a kitty and kitty food!? 

C: Some milk for my kitty. 

M: Okay besides Milk. What do you want? 

(DESPERATELY TRYING to get a different idea from this kid!)

C: Ummm some toys and a little kitty cat door so my kitty 

can go inside and out when he wants!

Abandoning the attempt all together we discussed 

with several people what we should do!! 

Ganma = You're Screwed and I think you'll be getting a cat! 

Daddy's co-worker = Which is worse to put up with a cat or to break your kids' heart!? 

Mommy tried to search all over for kittens! 

It was incredibly difficult to find any here that were FREE! 

(In Ohio you can ALWAYS find free kittens!! ALWAYS!)

After going to one human society we were about to give up entirely 

Until:

Waiting for the kitten he picked out

There it is

He is THRILLED!

This guy likes him too!

He could NOT WAIT to get him home!

Meet his new cat! 

Name = Kitty! 

(Soooo original!)

He loves him!

Kitty is a male 4 month old tuxedo kitten. 

(Apparently we can only have black and white cats in our family!)

The only reason we went to a second humane society 

was because we almost HIT a stray DOG on our way home from the first! 

We walked in to drop of the dog and C saw Kitty and said that one was his! 

We made him look at another one but he just kept saying I like him but 

the other cat is MY kitty! 

And he became his kitty as an EARLY birthday present! 

He didn't get the surprise of opening the box to find a kitty but 

he was still SOO happy!! 

The cat is a really mischievous cat but he is really 

good with letting the boys pick him up and carry him around. 

We are now desperately trying to toilet train this thing and 

figure out HOW to get it to stay UPSTAIRS away from our furniture! 

Our other cats were really great about staying in "their" territory. 

This little guy NOT so much! 

We will see how this goes! 

Now granted we LOVE C and would never want 

to break his heart but the main reason for caving and getting 

this new mouth to feed is simply because C has acted like a cat for 

at least 2 years!  The little guy just LOVES cats!
