We flew home on New Years Day.
A week is never long enough to visit with
family and friends but that's all
we could do with Daddy's new job.
We got to the airport and we were
very worried because the gate we were
assigned to had our flight and
the flight before our flight severely delayed!
Both flights were going to Denver but
they assured us that even though our flight was
delayed the plane was coming out of Denver and we
would make our connecting flight.
There was a HUGE winter storm moving
across the Midwest and the flight before ours
kept getting pushed farther and farther back because
their plane was coming from Chicago where the storm was
hitting hard!
The boys did amazing waiting!
Just playing games
(Thank you technology!)
We decided to eat there as well and
after an extra 2 hours of waiting we were on our way!
It felt very strange to be leaving the other passengers
there; when we were going to the same city and
their flight was supposed to leave before ours!
But we were grateful to be on our way before
that HUGE storm hit Pittsburgh and we would
have been stuck there!
We made it to Denver and RAN
to our next gate!
Denver is HUGE and of course
they didn't have our gates close to each other!
(Again we will NOT be making the mistake of not taking a stroller again!)
We made it to our gate with only minutes to spare as they were already
boarding the A and B groups!
But then we got on the plane and SAT there for another
HOUR or more ON the plane!!
Because of all the delays due to the storm in the
Midwest the computers in Denver were having issues!
The computers wouldn't let some
of the people who had been rerouted on
to the plane so they had to fix that and
because of the storm and all of the cancellations
they couldn't/didn't want to leave anyone there!
We finally made it up in the air
and back to Seattle!
We arrived a little over 2 hours later
than expected and we still owe our friends
who came and picked us up an AMAZING thank you gift!
Thank you! Thank you!
For coming to get us after 2 AM in the morning!
The boys did AMAZING and they all slept
during the second half of the trip.
When we got into Seattle we grabbed a
Smartcart thingy and loaded everyone and
everything up so we could walk to baggage claim
with minimal tears!
(After all it was 5 am EST!!)
We thank our Heavenly Father for our safe travels
and for our ability to get out of Pittsburgh before
the Huge storm hit!
We also thank our family for having us
and making it an amazing holiday season!
We love and miss you all!
