So where should we start?
(If we're repeating ourselves sorry we want to make sure we document everything)
For about a year or so Hubby kept saying he didn't feel like our family was complete.
And well Wifey knowing that pregnancy and delivery is not easy for her
she kept reminding him of such and that 2 is great!
Cut to conference time in October when one of the general authorities spoke.
Wifey was touched by the talk but
it still took her about 2 months or so to
Wifey was touched by the talk but
it still took her about 2 months or so to
even open up her heart and mind to asking the question in
prayer to Heavenly Father. In December she decided
to head to the temple in Washington D.C. to finally ask the question.
She prayed HARD and once she got her answer
she cried. Not because she didn't want another precious little miracle
but because of the LONG road she knew would be coming ahead!
She went home and told Hubby about her feelings and
insisted that they pray about it together.
Well, they both got the same answer and Wifey
cried some more but felt strongly about her feelings.
At about 5 weeks along Wifey got REALLY sick!
She finally convinced a doctor to take her in early
just to help with the morning (cough ALL DAY) sickness.
The doctor prescribed Zofran.
(The medicine they give chemo patients for their nausea)
It helped a little but she STILL had a
hard time getting out of bed and feeling human!
Things SLOWLY got to the point where she could function
but then we moved across the country!
but then we moved across the country!
It truly was a very difficult and trying time for us!
We went through a HOT summer here
in the Pacific Northwest where it "Rains all the time!"
(Shhh we might be letting a big secret out of the bag with that last sentence.)
(Shhh we might be letting a big secret out of the bag with that last sentence.)
Then in the middle of the summer she severely sprained her ankle.
Walking around in a boot during the last trimester was REALLY difficult.
The boys were amazingly patient with mommy while she was laid up and
daddy did as much as he could to help out with everything!
Then Ganma showed up and it was time for the big day!
We were SO worried that she would be here too early
because when we FINALLY found a doctor out here
(cough after 14 phone calls then 1 call to the insurance company
and them making 1 phone call to the hospital Wifey wanted to deliver at,
to find a doctor who would take her!!!)
there was some confusion on the baby's actual due date!
And apparently there is now a rule out there where doctors
can't/won't do an elective delivery before 39 weeks.
But none of that matters BECAUSE we got it all figured out
and we got to spend some amazing days with Ganma before
the baby came and then 2+ AMAZING weeks with
her here helping take care of everyone and love on us all!
ALRIGHT now to the BIG day!
We got up bright and early to head off to the hospital.
Everything went well in Pre-Op.
Then it was off to the operating/delivery room!
Ganma stayed in the pre-op room waiting for us
to come back with the new baby.
The hospital here was AMAZING and let Hubby
come in after the spinal block and he stayed with
her until they all went back to meet up with Ganma!
The doctor came in and got to work but
after a little while we heard them talking saying
that the baby was crying INSIDE!!
He was wide eyed and looking at them crying.
He was STUCK!
Which is scary to think about
and Hubby actually got light headed
and had to sit down on the floor to keep from passing out!
We heard them working and then the doctor say
"I've got to get him out!"
and
"It's going to be a very wet cry when he cries out!"
Then they said
"IT'S A BOY!!!"
But finally we heard him cry!
It was an amazing sound!
Hubby was still sitting on the floor
and Wifey was talking to him to make sure HE was okay!
She told him he had to get his act together because they were
going to be bringing over the baby soon and he had to be okay to hold him!
They brought the baby over to us
and we held him for a long time.
They took him away for just a few minutes and then
they brought him back and he stayed with us from then on!
Hubby also got to stay in the operating room
while they finished up and never left Wifey or Baby R's side!
It was a LONG pregnancy but he is SOOO SOOO SOOO
Amazingly worth it!!
We all LOVE him SO much!!
Welcome to our family little baby R!!!
