This was a better trip to the zoo for several reasons!
We went on a warm day at the end of January/beginning of February
so it wasn't too hot that day.
Daddy was with us the whole time so mommy had help with the boys.
And the animals were WAY more active!!
From a distance can you tell what it is?
We decided to see if we could get a closer view.
"Panda Beary!!"
G was so excited to see it!
Cheesing with Panda Beary
C watching it eat.
Up close
(The Panda Bears actually had a baby and we were hoping to see it but it didn't make it.)
C watching it eat.
Trying to get a family photo with the panda bear in the background
but it was hard to pose the boys and time it to capture the pacing
panda bear in the background.
Checking out the Elephants.
Part of their exhibit was still under construction.
Then we decided to head back to see if
we could finally get one and WE DID!!
It's all the way up at the top by the tree on the left!
We then had the fun opportunity
to go behind the scenes
and get up close and personal with the ZEBRAS!!
It was called
"Zebra Talks."
Right up close to the fence!
There was a zoo keeper there
who was making them do little tricks
and answering anyone's questions!!
With the Zebra
If you notice behind the Zebra in the background there
in another enclosure there were Cheetahs!!
We were surprised by that but
I guess the Zebras are much larger than them
so they don't feel threatened by each other!
Checking out the Cheetahs!
We headed off to see another
one of the boys' favorite animals:
GOR IL LA!!!
(quote from Tarzan the movie!)
It was sitting right next to the window.
Then it was the Orangutan's turn!
It was actually doing something rather gross!
The boys were trying to figure it out!
We just said he was eating
but it was actually throwing up and THEN eating it again!
So after getting up close with the monkeys
we had to ride the Choo, Choo train!!!
Ready
to ride!
Cheesing with with Lions
Then we went to check out the
Tigers!!
Daddy and C
checking out the pacing Tiger!!
We got to the bottom of the hill to the farm area to check it out
and then we were trying to figure out how to get to
the subway station that was supposed to be closer
to the bottom part of the zoo.
(The zoo is on a hill if you don't remember that from our previous zoo post.)
Well there isn't one!!
But some nice zoo workers pointed out
that they actually provide a shuttle to take you back
to the top!!!!
We were so grateful for them being so helpful!!
With the shuttle back to the top!!
It was a really fun and relaxing day to spend at the zoo!!
