So we may or may not have mentioned
that Wifey has had troubles with her ears
for most of her life. She had several surgeries
when she was younger and then she had
an exploratory surgery last October (2011.)
The surgery didn't go as well as we had hoped.
But, after we moved from Ohio she was still
scheduled to follow up with an ENT.
After we moved there she waited until she got sick
to finally head off to find a new ENT
(Ear/Nose and Throat or Otolaryngologist.)
This new ENT finally listened to what Wifey was saying
and did a scope study.
(They put a camera up your nose and down your throat.)
She said there isn't much more they can do for Wifey's
ears BUT she still had her tonsils AND her adenoids!!
Not only did she still have them but they were HUGE!
So she scheduled another surgery to have them removed!

Awesome gift from Ganma!!
(Wifey turns it around and it stays out through Thanksgiving!)
Ganma was AWESOME to come help and take care of the Wifey and the boys again!
It seems like she comes to visit when we need her most!
(We hope you know we love and appreciate all you do for us!)
(Even when we're not having surgeries!)
The surgery went well.
Wifey spent one night in the hospital and Hubby stayed with her;
then we went home the next day.
The doctor told Hubby she was SO surprised
that when she got in there Wifey's adenoids
were STILL infected after 3 weeks of antibiotics!!
(This explains why every change of the season Wifey would get sick
go to the doctor and they would give her a prescription which would
help a little but her poor nose would still run like a leaky faucet!)
Those darn adenoids!
(That the previous ENT said wasn't the problem!)
It was hard to get them taken out as an adult
but not as bad as some of the horror stories that we heard/read about!
The first day/night was the worst because she was throwing up.
She hadn't had anything to eat and not much to drink
so it was pretty painful for her. We asked the nurses for something
and they gave her some nausea medicine which helped A LOT!
Then we were on our way home to recover.
Recovery took a few days but then tapered off.
She was healing well but still had a bad dose of stinky breath!
As it turns out the yucky smell was coming from
a SINUS infection!!
The doctor put her on another antibiotic which
cleared everything right up!!
Wifey is now MUCH improved!!
She doesn't get sick/colds as often and
when she does they do not last for weeks on
end like they used to!
Sorry tissue companies but you won't be making as
much money off of us as you used to!
And THAT is a good thing!
HUGE Thanks to Ganma and Hubby and the ENT that FINALLY listened!
(Ganma we have to schedule a visit to just have fun some time soon!!)
