After a couple of days exploring the D.C. area
Adam headed down to visit his older brother for a few more days.
We decided to go with Ganma and head
down to join up with Adam and Johnny.
J still had to work some so
we took his suggestions and went out adventuring.
The first place he said we needed to go was:
He said we had to check out the dinosaur
with the hotdog in his mouth.
The dinosaur was HUGE!!
(The hotdog is missing due to the same storm that knocked out our power!)
Inside the hotdog cafe
Waiting for our yummy food!
The food was delicious!!
They have a TON of different toppings for
their hotdogs all named after
the different states/regions of the USA!
The boys even got balloon animals!
And Pop!
Yummy pop!
We decided to head
down to see the Grand Caverns!
It was definitely a nice way to cool off
from the hot weather outside!
Playing around in the Nature Center/Entrance to the Caverns.
Looking up at how HUGE these caverns were.
In the "Grand Ballroom"
Holding onto Ganma's hand when it got dark.
A standing next to a stalagmite
(They had a name for it but we can't remember what it is!)
The "Rainbow Room"
SO pretty!!
When we got back Uncle Johnny cooked us all some
delicious dinner and THEN
we decided to all have a dye party!
Before
After
We all dyed our hair!
Ganma even got her hair dyed too but she's taking the pictures!
(We should do it again sometime!)
Then we headed home and left the guys to have fun
before A had to get back to work.
We drove Ganma along Skyline drive to see the beautiful views!
Mother and Daughter
This time we even saw some wild life!
We actually drove most of it this time
and we discovered this tunnel!
Loooook very close!
That is a black bear!!
We were debating on whether or not to exit the Skyline drive
or to follow it to the end!
We decided to follow it to the end and we got to see this!
And THIS!!
Jeremy's got his own over look!!
(Even though he is on his mission this helped him feel like a part of our trip!)
Just after that there is this natural tree tunnel!
We were happy we decided to follow it the whole way!
