It was the 75th anniversary of the
Hill Cumorah Pageant
this year so we had made plans to go see it!
We were happy to hear
that several of our friends from Ohio
were planning the trip too!
So we got together and planned
to camp together and have a fun weekend with friends!
We were excited that
Uncle Adam and the girls were coming too!!
At the Hill Cumorah Visitor's Center
Our family being watched over.
Checking out the exhibits
Daddy asked "Where is Jesus?"
C: "Right 'der!"
After checking out the visitor's center
we headed over to get some lunch and some ice cream!!
We were trying to stay together as a group
but some how we seemed to always get split up!
We found ourselves always asking
where someone else was so we decided to
head off and go where we wanted to go
and who ever wanted to come could follow!
We headed off to the Book Store to browse around.
After that we decided it would be a good time to
head over to the Sacred Grove.
Adam and his girls
Daddy and C
The Sacred Grove
Sweet Peypey!
Hubby and Wifey
Hubby really liked
how Wifey's eyes looked that day so he wanted
a close up:
Eliza wanted a close up too!!
You might have noticed that a little boy was missing
from the pictures there.
Well he was here:
Catching some zzzzzzz's
(Mommy stayed behind with him while everyone else went into the Grove.)
After the Sacred Grove we
3 out of 4 cousins!
(Maybe we could work some photo shop and add G)
We are actually hoping Ganma can work some
magic and add G right there in the front!!
We stood that way hoping that would happen!
(Hint, Hint)
Sweet little boy!
After that we figured it would be
best to head over to the Hill and get some seats.
We planned ahead and packed
a dinner so we could sit and eat there.
But first this year they had special exhibits
of the props used in past shows on display!
Check out that Stripling Warrior!!
They even had some of the costumes from when
Wifey was in the Hill Cumorah Pageant!
Eating yummy dinner!
While waiting
we saw a Hot Air Balloon go by!!
Part of the gang with Captain Moroni!!
(The Ogden's, Corbetts and Adkins)
(This must have been a time when the Peterson's were off somewhere else)
Adam and his girls with Lehi
Our family with Lehi
One of King Benjamin's Priests
If you are an alumni
they gave you this little lanyard
and you signed a book
with your name and you're special memory from
your year in the pageant!
"Belaxing"
Waiting for the show to start!
The beginning!
Ba Dunp, dun dun daaaaa!
The Cast
Jesus Christ coming down.
It was late but the boys stayed
awake the whole time
and were AWESOME!!
We love being able to take our
boys and teach them about the gospel.
We hope they are feeling the amazing spirit
that comes along with these experiences as well!
We headed back to camp for the night!
Our awesome tent!!
(MANY big hugs, kisses, and thanks to Ganma for our awesome tent!
She knew we needed one and that we wanted to go on this trip so
she lovingly bought us a new tent that fits our whole family nicely!)
The boys definitely enjoyed it!!!
Playing at the campsite.
The Ogden's tent
(A and the girl's stayed with them too)
These guys were great too!!
They came along
and while we were busy they did
great inside their crate in the car!
(With the windows cracked and it wasn't too hot)
This guy slept in for a LONG time!!
Everyone around camp was saying that
their kids need to take lessons from our little G
because their kids were up at like 5 or 6 in the morning!!!
He slept in so late that everyone was taking down camp
and we started to take down camp around him as well!
We ended up splitting up the meals between the families and
Sunday breakfast was our meal so daddy is on the
grill cooking up some yummy french toast!
We wish there would have been better communication
throughout the trip. We loved spending time
with our friends but because of the communication
issues it really wasn't that much time!
We asked in the beginning if anyone
was planning on going to church on
Sunday because it was also travel home day
and they said no. But some how they had packed
church clothes and we didn't so we had to
go our separate ways early Sunday morning.
We decided to let the kids
burn some energy at a park/playground
and enjoyed the yummy meal that
Adam and his girls were assigned for lunch
and then headed home!
(It doesn't seem like we got ANY pictures with the Peterson's
which is a huge disappointment! But we hope we can go on a trip again with everyone soon!)
