Our 5th visitors
were Eric and Katie!
They wanted to explore as much
of downtown as possible!
So we headed off!
First we went to the Museum of American History.
It has the original American Flag
and you're not allowed to take many pictures in there.
After checking that out we headed off
Check out those bones!
the Butterfly exhibit!
The boys listening about the butterflies.
They were all so interested!
This time daddy was the lucky one to have a visitor!
The boys looking up close
He's trying to pick it up!
We had to quickly tell him NO!!
After that they wanted to see
the Declaration of Independence
and
The Constitution.
We hadn't visit that museum either
so we were excited!
The National Archives have WAY
more security than any other museum we'd been to!
You weren't allowed to take ANY pictures in there either!!
It was really cool to be able to see those documents up close!
We headed off to the car
to get our lunch!
After our bellies were full
we walked over to the Jefferson Memorial!
In front of the Memorial with
their bag of rocks!
Sometimes they are just so GOOD at taking pictures!!
The statue of Thomas Jefferson
Heading back over to The Mall.
Family Photo
with the Jefferson Memorial!
After the long walk Mommy knew
we were getting close to the edge of exhaustion = fits
with the boys so we all hopped into the car.
Eric and Katie wanted to see the Lincoln Memorial
as well and we wanted them to see all that they could!
So Mommy dropped them and daddy off as close as she could and she drove around.
She was right about the edge because the boys were OUT before we even
dropped everyone off! The boys walked for most of the way
and did great but they were tired too!
We are so grateful for friends coming and visiting us!
