G had his very first dentist appointment in January!
Well actually that's not true
(His first time ever seeing a dentist was after his running accident and nearly knocking his 2 front teeth out!!!)
They have this awesome room where parents can sit and watch their kids!!
That is where this little guy and daddy were hanging out!!
G did GREAT!!
He let them clean and check his teeth without a peep!!!
(So grateful that the traumatic experience and mommy's nervousness didn't scare him!)
We are happy to report that after G trying VERY hard to only chew with his back teeth
he STILL has his front two teeth and he had NO cavities!!!
(Chewing with his back teeth until his front teeth got their firmness back!)
The whole story about G's accident was G being typical G!!
He was running and jumping into the recliner!
Well he ran this time and must have tripped over his own two feet
and fell into the recliner!!!
(If you know our G... he tends to fall A LOT!)
Mommy thought it was just a normal fall until he came to her mouth all cupped shut
and then said "Mom" through tears streaming down and spit blood everywhere.
Mommy then went into hyper mode!!
Walking around asking "what to do what to do!"
Then carrying G into the kitchen and getting some ice in a baggy, wrapped in a towel.
She set him on the couch to watch T.V. and he calmed down really quick.
Then she asked him if she could see inside his mouth just to check
that he didn't bite a chunk out of
his tongue or cheek or anything.
And What did she find!!??
His two front teeth completely knocked inward at an almost 20 degree angle!!
(normal being straight down and at 90 degrees)
G then said "I don't want to swallow my teeth!!"
Then mommy doesn't know what came over her but she pulled the teeth forward
until it felt like they were back in the right spots.
Then she called Ganma and Daddy to tell them about what happened
and asked them what to do!!!
Daddy called around a ton of dentists and found that this one could get us in the same day!!
We took G there and found out he would NOT lose his front teeth if we were careful!
This was a HUGE relief because mommy was very anxious/upset.
She doesn't like going to the dentist and she
was so worried about G losing his front teeth and being with out them for several years!!
We liked Dentist Mike so much we decided to
keep him as our dentist and went back for his official check up!
As we look back we are so grateful for the Lord being with us!!
C was calm and didn't get in the way at home after the accident
and then he slept the ENTIRE time at the appt.
G was calm after the accident, slept on the way to the appt. and very brave at the dentist!
We were able to find someone to get him in the same day and he wasn't going to lose his teeth!
(If your child has an accident DO NOT go on the internet.... it only makes it worse!!)
We are truly SO blessed by our Heavenly Father
and we are going to be more dedicated to showing our gratitude to him for ALL he does for us!!
