This 4th of July our close friends wanted to travel to Pittsburgh.
So we were all for it!!
We booked a hotel and were off!!
In the Lobby of our Hotel!
Waiting while daddy is checking in!
Looking down from our Hotel room!!
Then it was off to get a bite to eat!!
The boys LOVED the pigeons and they were
EVERYWHERE!!
Cooling himself off on a nice HOT summer 4th of July day!!
They have this Three Rivers Rigata going on before the Fireworks show!
G climbing up the slide!
Off go Daddy and G!
Weeee!!!
Again! Again!
Walking around the Rigata!
They had so much fun!!!
And everything was FREE!!
Except the food!
Now THAT is where they get you!!
The food was EXPENSIVE!!
And the only other downside was....
IT DOWN POURED rain!!
ALL over us!!!
It was a beautiful/humid day until.
We wanted some good seats and just as we were going to sit down
in a good spot and save our seats it started RAINING!
HARD!!
So lovingly!!
Hubby stayed there to keep our seats
and the rest of us walked back to the hotel to get some warm clothes on!!
He at least got to watch bits and pieces of the water show while he waited!
They set the fireworks off over the river!
We were unsure if we were even going to get to see the fireworks!!
But we did because luckily it stopped raining!!
C sitting on daddy's lap watching the Fireworks!
Switch now it is G now it's G's turn on Daddy's lap!
The fireworks were AH- Mazing!!
We are unsure if we will attempt this again.
Perhaps find a spot up Mount Washington!
Then it was back to the hotel for some LATE night PIZZA!!
Yummy!!
And then we slept in a little bit!
Patti and Bruno had to go to work the next day!
BOOO!!
So they left really early!!
We however decided to take advantage of the mini vacay and we went
To the ZOO!!
The shark at the Zoo entrance!
Checking out the Flamingos!!
We really like the Pittsburgh Zoo because
it is not TOO big or TOO small and
they have multiple shaded play areas for the kids!
This is the Sand Pavilion!
The boys had so much fun!
We just took our time going through the park!
Wondering what baby C is looking at?
A peacock!!
Yup that close!!
Just wondering around!!
We are not sure if it got lose or what!!
It was a neat experience though!
Baby C is soo brave!!
Off he went down the slides!!
G had no problems either!!
Across the rope bridge!!
Riding the log ride!
Petting the Goat!
They have no problems with getting up close!!
In front of the deer!
Closer picture!
Our cute little family!!
ELEPHANTS!!
The zoo wasn't too busy that day!!
Look elephants!!
Getting close to the Elephants!!
An Elephants footprint!
Better not get too close or they
could SQUISH you!!
Another awesome experience:
The Orangutan
Was just sitting there SO close to the window!!
It's a stare down!!
They boys were shocked!!
But they got up close to him!!
Then it was off to the aquarium!!
THAT
is an Octopus!!!
We've never seen one that up close or BIG before!!
Little baby Sea horse!!
Another highlight:
Petting the Sting ray!!
We got a bunch of pictures of this!
Because their faces are so precious!!
Look
How Big They are
And CLOSE they get!!
Walking through the Aquatic tunnel!
With SHARKS!!!
Do you see it!?!?
POLAR BEARS!!!
Then it was off to more play time!!
Which way do you prefer!?!?
Baby C trying to do it all by himself!!
It's more fun with help!
G had no problems!!
He is such a Big boy!!
And we are OFF to the races!!
That was our 4th of July celebrations!!
It was really nice and relaxing to get away!!
The next day or so we went and set off our own fireworks!!
Independence Day is one of our Favorite Holidays for many different reasons!!
