How it all Started!
Okay so we figured since we're getting better at this we would go back and inform everyone who might not already know our story. So it all started when Ken traveled to Pittsburgh from Utah for an internship. He as going to the singles ward in Oakland. This was also the singles ward for the singles of the Lisbon ward. So several of the single gals were planning on going to institute on Friday.(July 16, 2004) They had invited Amanda but she wasn't too thrilled with going since her last experience was not so great. But they convinced her to go so after some shopping for new clothes she went. Institute was all right according to Amanda but the fun began afterwards. There is always an activity afterwards and this is what Ken showed up for. He showed up just as everyone was getting into their cars to head down to the South side Street Festival. None of the girls knew him so they started screaming "Hey green shirt!!" Luckily one of our friends who had been attending the Singles ward for a while knew him and asked if he wanted to ride with us. Of course he did. Three single ladies in a car what guy wouldn't!?!? We were walking around the festival and Ken was getting to know all of the ladies but then Amanda saw a little girl with a fish and asked where to win one. We found out and we went and Ken won me a fish!! The fish ended up dying some 3 days later and since Ken had not called Amanda all of those same friends who talked her into going to institute talked her into calling him. Well she did eventually and it's all history from there! TWO years later, several trips to Utah, Several long distant phone calls, a move to Utah, and then a move back to Ohio with Ken in tow we made it! We got married in the Washington D.C. temple on July 14, 2006
The newlyweds!!
We had so much love and support from all our family and friends. Ken's family came from Utah to be with us!!
Our rings!!
Okay so the first time Ken proposed it was kinda unofficial and then we ran into some problems with getting everything ready on time so we were upset with this we decided to still be together but the stress needed to be put on hold so we enjoyed each other for another several months and then with out knowing Ken had taken the ring got another diamond put in and he re-proposed in Pittsburgh where we first met it was very surprising to Amanda.
